During the EnforceTac 2018, Direct Action – Polish manufacturer of tactical clothing and equipment – presented their new Thunderbolt chestrig, Hellcat plate carrier and Halifax backpack.
Thunderbolt chestrig is devoid of any MOLLE/PALS webbing. To minimize the weight, all pouches are sewn in permanently.
Thunderbolt is made of 500D Cordura laminate and underlined with softshell fabric. The focal point of the design phase was minimization of the chestrig`s mass and footprint. Shoulder straps can be removed and the remaining panel can be used with the Direct Action`s Spitfire and Hellcat vests.
Thunderbolt can carry up to 8 standard AK/AR-15 magazines. It can even accommodate SR-25 mags. Four mags are carried in the interior pouches and are protected with a shock cord finished with a webbing loop. Exterior has two double pouches, protected with a flap which gets fastened by a plastic buckle. Trauma kit can be carried on the chestrig`s exterior in a dedicated pouch. Additional carrying capabilities are provided by two pistol magazine pouches and a map/document pocket.
Additional pouch can be attached to a laminated panel located at the bottom of the chestrig.
Hellcat plate carrier is a light construction, dedicated for urban environment. It can be easily hidden under the outer layer of clothing. Product has very few protruding elements. This minimizes the possibility of clipping an obstacle and lessens the visual impact when the carrier is worn concealed.
Hellcat plate carrier is made of laminated 500D Cordura, 210D nylon and elastic webbing. This reduces the overall weight of the Hellcat.
Front has 3 single mag pouches, compatible with AR-15 magazines. The pouches are elastic. Each side of the cummerbund has 2 additional mag pouches and a radio pocket. Hellcat also has a Velcro panel, which enables to user to affix ID patches or additional lightweight equipment.
Halifax backpack was designed with special forces operators in mind. It consists of one main compartment, top flap pocket, hydration pouch and two small side pockets. Zipper, which runs along both sides and the top, allows for full opening and very easy access to the contents.
Halifax backpack is almost fully covered with laser-cut MOLLE/PALS cells. Direct Action plans to introduce this backpack into their regular offer in the second half of 2018. /Photos: Paweł Ściborek
