UNIFEQ not only relies on proven solutions. It conducts research on the most advanced materials and development work, including the PUMA system (Modular-Adaptable Field Uniform), during which equipment was tested for seven years both in the Arctic Circle and in Australia. Above all, UNIFEQ prioritizes innovative solutions, with quality backed by field tests that guarantee reliability in all conditions.
ECS Dragon - a complete uniform is a system
ECS Dragon is not just a uniform but a complete equipment system, developed through the cooperation of UNIFEQ Europe Sp. z o.o. and PSO Maskpol S.A.
ECS Dragon was created based on over 20 years of experience with field uniforms in leading NATO units – Polish, American, and Scandinavian. The core idea behind Unifeq’s products is the performance that the user can achieve in action. To this end, high-quality, durable stretch fabrics were used, making the uniforms quiet, soft, comfortable, and allowing full freedom of movement. All areas in contact with bare skin are made from No Melt No Drip material.
Unlike the uniforms that have been in service with the Polish Armed Forces for many years, this system includes as many as nine layers – starting with thermal underwear, through the field uniform, and ending with insulating and camouflage layers. With a single set, each soldier can configure their clothing for operations in any climate. ECS ensures user comfort in temperatures ranging from -40 to +40 degrees Celsius, from temperate zones to deserts, jungles, and the Arctic Circle.
ECS Dragon uniform levels
Layer 1 – “NEXT TO SKIN,” the summer and winter field underwear system. Responsible for wicking sweat, maintaining body comfort during dynamic operations, and providing protection against mechanical injuries. Developed in cooperation with experts from a leading Polish company supplying sports underwear.

Layer 2 – An insulating set borrowed from Scandinavian uniform systems, made of knitted Merino wool. Lightweight and flexible, yet very warm and highly breathable.

Layer 3 – A universal field insulator providing protection against wind and light precipitation – it can be worn as an outer layer if needed, or under other uniform layers as insulation. Simple in design, compact, and easy to maintain, it is one of the soldiers’ most favored uniform components.

Layer 4 – A lightweight, minimalist windbreaker that fits into a small gear pocket. It can be used as survival equipment when worn under the field jacket. A system component worth always having on hand.

Layer 5 – The softshell set of jacket and trousers is, alongside the field uniform, the true core of the ECS Dragon system. This uniform is designed for operations in autumn and winter conditions, serving much better as a field uniform during that time than a classic cotton-based one that absorbs moisture. The nylon jacket and trousers work seamlessly with all other clothing layers, maintaining breathability while protecting against wind and light precipitation during dynamic operations.
Layer 6 – The rain set – worn over other layers, made of a lightweight, waterproof, and moisture-wicking three-layer laminate – ideal for static operations during prolonged rainfall.
Layer 7 – The winter clothing subsystem. Intended as a multi-piece set of outer trousers and jackets insulated with cutting-edge synthetic fill, enabling long-term operations in low temperatures. Observation posts, extended patrols, or movement in open vehicles are missions where Layer 7 components will be especially appreciated by soldiers.

Level 8 – This is an open category of camouflage garments – ranging from basic winter overgarments to more specialized bases for individual camouflage for snipers and JTACs. By design, clothing from this level is worn on top of all other uniform elements.
Level 9 – Field and combat uniforms – it is at Level 9 that we find the classic, though significantly modernized, elements of the system that soldiers will wear most often: field trousers, jacket, or the so-called combat shirt. Made from modern versions of traditional fabrics with enhanced durability and flexibility, equipped with reinforcements and elbow and knee pads as well as additional ventilation systems, they form a key component of the ECS Dragon system.

One of the key features of ECS Dragon is its full compatibility with soldier protective equipment – from the very beginning, the project was developed with the idea of a coherent system of uniform – ballistic protection – load-bearing gear.
As part of the system, variants of protective vests and equipment components are also being developed, tailored to different operational needs and types of weaponry, taking into account the lessons learned from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

It should be noted that the ECS Dragon project is being implemented in the form of a public–private partnership, based on close cooperation between the defense industry and Polish suppliers of textile and ballistic technologies. Particular emphasis has been placed on local production – the vast majority of ECS Dragon components are manufactured in domestic industrial plants, which increases supply security, supports the development of the Polish economy, and strengthens Poland’s technological potential.
