Aimpoint Duty RDS MR – the first configurable sight from the Swedish manufacturer
Aimpoint introduces a new closed-emitter red dot sight designed for long guns – the Aimpoint Duty RDS MR. This is a new version of the already well-known Duty RDS model, enhanced with the option to choose between three reticle configurations (Multi Reticle; MR):
- 2 MOA dot,
- 2 MOA dot + 65 MOA circle,
- 65 MOA circle.
The sight is primarily intended for professional users and is designed to withstand harsh weather conditions and drops, while also being compatible with night vision devices. The Duty RDS MR uses the common T2/H2 mounting standard – however, it should be noted that the optical axis will sit 9 mm higher compared to the classic Micro line models.
New reticle
The Aimpoint® Multi-Reticle Optic provides three reticle options: a 65 MOA circle for rapid close-range acquisition, a 2 MOA dot for uncluttered precision, and a combination of 65 MOA circle with 2 MOA dot for shooters who demand both capabilities at once. It’s true 1X, parallax-free glass allows both-eyes-open shooting, giving shooters complete situational awareness and rapid target engagement in any environment.
Close range (0–25 yds):The 65 MOA circle can be used to bracket and quickly center a target. The 6 o’clock lower hash mark provides a precise aiming reference for accurate shots inside 7 yards.
Mid to long range (24-400+ yds)Use the 2 MOA dot for precision shots at close to long range. A 50-yard zero will typically keep the impacts within a 4-inch deviation out to 250 yds on most 5.56/.223 rifles. To achieve maximum precision, the use of an Aimpoint® magnifier is encouraged.
Manufacturer’s description
Configuration with a central dot and surrounding circle is also intended to serve as a simple stadiametric rangefinder.
- 100 yards (~91 m)

The target will appear in the sight picture between the bottom edge of the circle and the central dot.
- 300 yards (~274 m)
The target will cover roughly 2/3 of the distance between the bottom edge of the circle and the central dot.
