On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, the State Treasury – Armament Agency signed an executive contract valued at approximately 57.6 million PLN gross (ca. 14.5 million USD) with WB Electronics (part of WB Group) for the delivery of 7 sets of FlyEye Miniature Unmanned Aerial Systems as part of a framework agreement from September 5, 2023, which anticipates the acquisition of 400 sets by 2035.

The beneficiary of the order will be the Territorial Defence Forces.
The signing of the contract took place at the WB Electronics headquarters in Ożarów Mazowiecki, with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and the Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Defense responsible for overseeing the technical modernization of the Polish Military, Paweł Bejda.
The contract stipulates the delivery of 7 sets of FlyEye Unmanned Aerial Systems to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland along with technical documentation and repair, logistics, and training packages (Thousandth FlyEye produced).
This is an important moment and a great joy for the Polish Military, for the Ministry of National Defense, and primarily for the security of Poland. We are at WB Electronics, which is the largest drone manufacturer in Europe. We are proud that today an agreement has been signed with a Polish drone manufacturer, a company that invests in development, technology, and the most modern discoveries. It relies on Polish scientists, it relies on Polish engineers, said Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the signing of the drone supply contract for the Polish army.
A Polish company will produce drones for the Polish military. A specific contract has been signed. It fulfills the framework agreement. The framework agreement covers about 400 sets. Today, the first part gives a sense that this process is gaining momentum. The drones will be used by, among others, the Territorial Defence Forces – they are prepared for this, equipped with good equipment, but they also have specific skills. These drones are used for reconnaissance. (…) They are currently used by the armed forces of Ukraine. This experience means that we have the most modern versions. They are constantly being modified, improved with new experiences from the battlefield. Poland buys the best equipment. The Polish Military receives the best equipment in the most modern version, which no one else uses, said the head of the Ministry of National Defense.
Reconnaissance is the basis for good planning. FlyEye serves to do just that. More contracts will be signed later this year. In the coming years, all these sets will be delivered to the Polish Military. I thank everyone who contributed to the signing of this contract. (…) I thank the manufacturers for their huge commitment and conducting research for new discoveries and their implementation. I thank the Armament Agency for their work on the contract, emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister.
Deliveries of unmanned aerial vehicles in the latest developmental versions of the system will be completed by the end of this year. In November last year, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland received 5 upgraded sets, which, under the contract from December 2022, the manufacturer upgraded to the FlyEye 3.6 version. The improvements included modifications to the navigation systems, enhancement of the security level, and integration of the UAVs with the TOPAZ Automated Fire Control System (WB Group gets contract for servicing Topaz AFCS system).
I thank everyone who contributed to the signing of this contract. It is hard work on the part of the Polish industry, it is hard work on the part of the WB Group. The WB Group is a very serious armaments plant that supports the Polish Military. This cooperation is our common success, but above all, the success of the Polish taxpayer, who pays heavy money in taxes. Unmanned aerial systems are the future, which is why we will develop our capabilities in this area. In the Polish Military, a drone military component will be established, said Paweł Bejda, the Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Defense.
WB Group is a Polish manufacturer of modern technical solutions employing two thousand workers, with WB Electronics as its leading company. This entity, in which the Polish Development Fund holds shares, operates globally in the markets of communication systems, crisis management, public security, transport, power electronics, and defense. It develops its own proprietary solutions, delivering them to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and the militaries of other countries (including USA). WB Group is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of unmanned systems, including the reconnaissance and strike Gladius, the reconnaissance FlyEye and FT-5, and the Warmate family of loitering munitions.
