A Vehicle for Saving Lives
W Międzyczasie is composed of Polish battlefield medics who have been supporting Ukrainian soldiers since 2014. The non-profit foundation, made up of volunteers, officially began operating under this name in 2023. On their Facebook page, they regularly share their experiences from the ongoing war, actively participating in front-line operations. They also share the knowledge and skills they have gained back home, raising awareness about the dangers present on the modern battlefield.
As volunteers, we do not receive any payment for our work. We exist and fight for lives thanks to your support!
W międzyczasie
On May 12, 2025, the foundation posted on Facebook about a new vehicle dedicated to casualty evacuation. This is not an ordinary civilian vehicle in its factory configuration — it features a specially designed interior by ResQline and armor provided by BC Arms. The modified Nissan Patrol serves as a significant force multiplier for the foundation.
Official statement from the foundation:
A new vehicle has entered service — purchased with your 1.5% (tax donations) from previous years. The project was taken on by the workshop @Fenix4x4automotive, who prepared a Patrol 61Y with a 3.0 engine for us. The interior build was done by our foundation’s mechanics, S. and Ł. After recent shelling, we looked for ways to improve crew safety inside the vehicle — that’s how we found the team at BC Arms, who provided us with ballistic panels. We installed a Saros 300 oxygen concentrator, and thanks to the Government Strategic Reserves Agency (@Rządowa Agencja Rezerw Strategicznych), we were also able to equip the vehicle with a ventilator and a cardiac monitor. The medical gear is stored in pockets mounted on a trauma wall from ResQline, custom-made to our dimensions. On the roof, we’ve installed an anti-drone jammer — now an essential component of every vehicle. The stretchers inside are interchangeable; the standard ambulance ones can be replaced with Talons. Many components for the vehicle were donated by Aga Cichowicz from Bydgoszcz. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the creation of this beast. By the way, we’re looking for good-hearted people around Warsaw who have access to a garage where our mechanics could work on repairs in their free time. We’re also looking for volunteer mechanics to help maintain our fleet. Repairs are costly — we kindly ask for your continued support. Thank you!
Do służby ruszył samochód, jaki kupiliśmy z Waszego 1,5 proc. z wcześniejszych lat. Przy okazji szukamy dobrych ludzi, jacy w okolicach Warszawy dysponują warsztatem samochodowym gdzie w wolnym czasie nasi mechanicy mogliby reperować nasze pojazdy. Szukamy też mechaników wolontariuszy do pracy nad naszym taborem. Jego remont kosztuje, prosimy Was o dalsze wsparcie. Dzięki!

BC Arms — Protection for Both Services and Civilians
BC Arms is a Polish manufacturer of ballistic protection, best known for its range of personal protective equipment — including hard plates and soft armor in various protection classes. The company is also capable of handling special projects, having equipped the foundation’s vehicle with a full set of ballistic panels.

BC Arms is continuously expanding its product line. Among the latest additions are the Warrior series of ballistic shields, showcased at MSPO 2024, as well as the Archangel protective vest, designed specifically for medical rescuers in collaboration with Currahee.
The manufacturer also keeps a close eye on market trends and emerging needs. The growing presence of women in the armed forces and other uniformed services has created a demand for equipment tailored to their anatomy — including ballistic protection.

Meet the Medics of W Międzyczasie Fundation
Those interested in battlefield medicine have the opportunity to meet members of the foundation during major events in Poland. The editorial team of the military magazine MILMAG, while visiting the Mactronic booth at the International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Kielce in 2024, had the chance to interview the foundation’s president and active combat medic, Damian Duda.
