Part of the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), Protective Equipment Company Maskpol (PSO Maskpol S.A.) from Konieczki is the main supplier of gas masks and various types of filter for Polish uniformed services. For many years, the company has been providing this equipment to the Polish Army. A breakthrough moment was in 1995 when the company began supplying the MP-5 gas mask. Previously, masks such as the MP-4 and SzM41M MUA were also produced in Konieczki.
Currently, the company offers a wide range of filters as well as gas masks. This includes the MP-6 gas mask supplied to the armed forces, the MCP-01 and MCP-02 civilian masks, the long-produced MP-5 mask, and a series of half masks for industrial applications.
Thanks to its many years of experience and participation in numerous R&D programs in which the company actively takes part, the company is now preparing to launch serial production of the latest MP-6T gas mask, specially developed for the armed forces. The design of the mask, equipped with a panoramic visor, allows for the attachment of overlays to protect operators’ eyes from laser light. An additional feature of this design is an external voice amplifier that can be connected to a personal radio.
A few years ago, the company launched a multi-domain investment program, one element of which is a new automated production line for combined filters. The project is being implemented on the company’s initiative and funded with its own resources. This proprietary solution, based on the designs of the company’s engineers and technologists, aims to fully automate the production process. In addition to automation, the new line will enable very high production efficiency and full monitoring of the entire process (Amendment to the contract for HP-05 helmets for the Polish Army).
“The line will specifically handle the assembly of components, dispensing of sorbents, application of adhesive, and leak testing of the produced filter absorbers, absorbers, and filters. It will ensure automatic loading and positioning of all types of housings, parts, and components of filter absorbers and absorbers through a system of automatic manipulators and industrial robots with interchangeable part magazines. It will also ensure automatic resistance measurement (leak testing) of the manufactured products during the production cycle,” emphasizes Board Member Tomasz Jackiewicz.
The full-scale launch of the production line is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2024. This new investment is crucial for the security of filters supplies for the Polish Army, uniformed services, and respiratory protection equipment for civil defense. It also serves as further evidence of the company’s adopted development direction, where high-performance, modern technologies play an increasingly significant role. As a result, MASKPOL is currently one of the leaders within the PGZ Group in the investment area, which translates into a high growth rate of revenue and financial performance.
