On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA) announced that, at the request of the Armed Forces Operational Command (DO RSZ), air traffic restrictions will be introduced over eastern Poland in the form of the restricted area EP R129. The restrictions will be in effect from September 10 at 22:00 UTC until December 9, 2025, at 23:59 UTC.

From sunset (SS) to sunrise (SR), a total flight ban is in force within area EP R129, except for military aircraft.
From sunrise (SR) to sunset (SS), flights within EP R129 are prohibited except for:
- Manned aircraft operating under a filed flight plan, equipped with a functioning transponder operating in Mode A and C or in Mode S, maintaining continuous air-to-ground voice communication monitoring with the appropriate ATS authority, and, if necessary, establishing two-way communication on the relevant channel of the appropriate ATS authority;
- Military aircraft;
- Flights executed under the codes GARDA, ALPHA SCRAMBLE;
- Flights with the status HEAD, STATE, SAR, HOSP, MEDEVAC, FFR.
A 24-hour ban applies to civilian unmanned aircraft within EP R129.
Upon coordination with the Duty Operations Service of the Air Operations Center – Air Component Command (DSO COP-DKP) at tel. 261 828 202, flights not meeting the above criteria may be authorized, including:
- State aviation and air ambulance flights;
- Flights carried out to provide assistance in cases of danger to human or animal life or health, particularly during natural disasters, catastrophes, ecological threats, or emergency situations;
- Flights related to the protection and monitoring of critical infrastructure.
- The restricted area will be active H24.
We remind that the entry of aircraft not meeting exemption criteria into an active R area constitutes a violation of Aviation Law regulations.
The restriction has been introduced to ensure state security in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of January 18, 2019, on flight restrictions for a period not exceeding three months.
