On Tuesday, 18 November 2025, WB Group announced that Croatia had received another batch of its automated traffic enforcement systems. PolCam Systems solutions are used by the Croatian police and have been integrated with the central management and ticketing system. In November, the Hrvatska policija received the final SmartEye ST-1 batch of the year, supporting road transport safety.

Croatian services received nearly one hundred advanced SmartEye ST-1 speed-enforcement systems in 2025, along with additional equipment. The devices were developed by PolCam Systems, WB Group’s competence centre for road-traffic safety systems.
PolCam Systems won a 2019 tender to supply Croatia with the first fifty tripod-mounted speed cameras. Since then, Polish solutions have been steadily supporting the Croatian police. In 2023, the WB Group company signed a framework agreement to deliver more than 150 additional road-safety devices.
In November, deliveries of another batch of fixed SmartEye ST-1 systems and dedicated Cabinet housings will be completed. All devices have been integrated with Croatia’s central management and ticketing system. The Polish WB Group entity is also responsible for its maintenance, technical support and servicing.
SmartEye ST-1 speed-enforcement systems have repeatedly proven their effectiveness in protecting road users. Strong operational results and the close partnership with the Croatian police have led to a planned modernization of the 50 units delivered in 2019, upgrading their functionality to the current standard.
SmartEye ST-1 is an advanced device designed to record traffic violations such as speeding and red-light running. It generates Full HD evidence material and ensures high effectiveness in a wide range of environmental conditions.
The system complies with European standards: it supports external IP cameras, integrates with databases, and allows rapid adaptation to local procedures. The version supplied to the Croatian police is additionally equipped with video cameras that record footage 24/7. For every traffic incident, the system automatically appends a short video clip to supplement the evidentiary material.
SmartEye solutions very accurately recognize license plates and can also identify a vehicle’s make, model, color, and type. High-resolution camera footage enables detection of unfastened seat belts or the use of a mobile phone while driving.
Another successful deployment of PolCam Systems’ road-safety technologies confirms the effectiveness and reliability of WB Group solutions in an international operational environment, as well as their readiness to adapt to local organizational and infrastructure requirements.
