On Friday, June 13, 2025, the WB Group announced on social media that the Comp@n system radio set, developed by its subsidiary Radmor, along with the Cryptographic Document Management and Generation System, had received a cryptographic security certificate from the Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW).
“The Comp@n radio system, developed by Radmor (the WB Group’s center of excellence for military radio communications), together with the Cryptographic Document Management and Generation System, has received a cryptographic security certificate from the SKW (Military Counterintelligence Service – editor’s note). Thanks to this, the Polish Armed Forces have acquired the capability to fully meet their secure radio communication needs using domestic solutions.
The Comp@n-Z is the second Polish radio set in history, after the Tytan Personal Radio (RO), developed and produced by the WB Group, to be approved by the Military Counterintelligence Service for processing classified information at the levels of Restricted, NATO Restricted, and EU Restricted.
We would like to extend our thanks to the experts from the Military Counterintelligence Service and the Cyber Defense Forces Component Command for their professionalism and dedication in testing and evaluating the radio system,” the press release states.
The Comp@n software-defined radio is a multi-band device designed for long-range operation, which enables coordination across different levels of command. It is a handheld unit that, when paired with a vehicle adapter and power amplifier, can be used in both mobile and stationary configurations. The system is known for its versatility, flexibility, and ease of adapting its functions to user requirements. Comp@n radios can be used for short-range voice communication, simultaneous voice and data transmission, and for integration with IP-based networks, also supporting concurrent voice and data transfer.
Comp@n is intended for use across all branches of the armed forces. It enables intra-unit communication and interoperability between different military components. The radio is equipped with a dedicated digital processing block that allows for integration of certified cryptographic mechanisms and specialized waveforms tailored to the needs of specific force types.
Within the Comp@n family of radios, two waveform configurations are currently available: Comp@n H07 and Comp@n H09. These are not the only configurations possible within the Comp@n platform, but rather proposals tailored to specific operational needs. The main difference between them lies in the core waveforms (WFs) used, which determine the radio’s intended role.
Technical Specifications
Operating frequency range: 30 – 520 MHz
Nominal output power: 5 W
Dimensions: 220 × 86 × 44 mm
Weight (with power supply): 1000 g
The Comp@n-Z vehicle radio was developed based on the handheld Comp@n radio (WB Group: Perad and Comp@n Radios – A Revolution in Polish Military Communications).
The handheld Comp@n radio can be placed in a vehicle adapter and connected to a power amplifier, creating a mobile or stationary configuration.
The design of the amplifier and adapter allows for flexible installation in vehicles, either as separate units mounted several meters apart, or as a mechanically integrated module.
The mobile set, consisting of the Comp@n radio mounted in the vehicle adapter, is complemented by a power amplifier. It enables operation at up to 50 W output power, significantly extending the communication range. The amplifier is powered by the vehicle’s onboard power supply and is compatible with all radios in the Comp@n family.
