On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, during the Competitiveness & Security Business Summit 2025, held under the leadership of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Marcin Idzik, a member of the Management Board of the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), announced the opening of the PGZ Office in Brussels.
The ceremony was symbolic in nature and took place at the conclusion of the Defense Discussion Panel titled “Towards a Stronger & Secure Europe: Advancing EU Defence Readiness” with the participation of Konrad Gołota, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of State Assets, Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz, Member of the European Parliament, and Marcin Szczerba, also a Member of the European Parliament.
The decision to establish an office in Brussels stems from the need for even greater involvement of the Polish defense sector in shaping the EU’s security and defense policy, as well as in securing European funding allocated through programs and projects aimed at strengthening the European defense industry.
The office will also serve a range of additional functions, including supporting the export of Polish armaments to Western European markets and acting as a base for various scientific, business, and networking initiatives, projects, and workshops organized by the Polish Armaments Group.
The office is located on Rue Belliard in the so-called “European Quarter.” Its location in the heart of the EU’s administrative district adds further strategic value to the effective execution of its assigned objectives.
“We want to take part in discussions on defense policy. Thanks to our presence in Brussels, we will have a better chance of successfully applying for European funding. This is a key step for the entire Polish Armaments Group, as it will allow us not only to better respond to the needs of the European market, but also to strengthen the position of our companies as reliable partners in international defense projects,” emphasized Marcin Idzik, member of the PGZ Management Board.
The date of the official opening of the PGZ Office in Brussels was not accidental, as on the same day, the European Commission and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, representing the Member States, presented the White Paper on European Defense – Readiness 2030. The published document places particular emphasis on the urgent need to build a strong industrial base for the defense sector within the European Union. The White Paper proposes how Member States can make substantial investments in defense, procure defense systems, and build long-term readiness within the European defense industry.
According to the announcement by President Ursula von der Leyen, the ReArm Europe / Readiness 2030 plan enables the allocation of over 800 billion EUR in funding by the year 2030.
The Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) is a leading producer and supplier of advanced defense systems, providing innovative solutions for the Polish Armed Forces and allied countries for years. With the opening of its office in Brussels, PGZ strengthens its position as a key player in the European defense market.
