The only criterion for selecting the offer was price (100%), which was subject to negotiation. The contract was signed under a single-source procurement procedure on January 28, 2025. The ordered equipment is to be delivered within 11 months from the contract signing date to the Multi-Industry Material Depot in Piła, which operates under the 1st Regional Logistics Base in Wałcz. Griffin Group Defence is the exclusive representative of the German company Hensoldt Optronics (part of the Hensoldt Group) in the Polish market.
The spotting scopes were introduced into the equipment of the Polish Armed Forces by Order No. 32 of the Chief of the Armed Forces Support Inspectorate on March 7, 2012. The order for an additional batch results from their widespread use in specialist training of units and subunits. However, the primary reason for the procurement is the necessity to meet the authorized equipment requirements of the organizational units of the Polish Armed Forces.
Description
The precise Spotter 60 20-60×72 spotting scope from the German company Hensoldt is designed for battlefield observation in various climatic and atmospheric conditions during daylight hours. It is also used for detecting potential targets and determining basic fire control data. This is a versatile optical system intended for observation and object identification, offering magnification from 20 to 60 times and featuring 85% light transmission.
The Spotter 60 spotting scope is primarily used as individual equipment for soldiers in designated marksman teams. The compact, optical, and ergonomic Spotter 60 fully meets the diverse requirements of its users. Its automatic brightness memory allows for quick selection of previously set reticle illumination levels. Additionally, the reticle properties can be customized to meet the individual needs of the user.
The Spotter 60 can be mounted on a tripod, providing stable and secure operation, or it can be used in handheld mode. The device can also be equipped with Picatinny rails, compliant with the MIL-STD-810G standard. This mounting system allows for the attachment of additional accessories, such as a low-light enhancement module, which transforms the scope into a high-power night vision device.
