On Tuesday, December 24, 2024, the Armament Agency signed a contract worth over 499 million PLN with the WB Group for the delivery of Force Protection systems designed for aerial reconnaissance and air coverage of the operational areas of the Homar-K multiple rocket launcher battalions. The contract also includes the completion of vehicle equipment, such as Perad radios (Tytan Personal Radio (Perad) after testing).

The agreement was signed on behalf of the State Treasury’s Armament Agency by its head, Brigadier General Artur Kuptel. WB Group was represented by its president, Piotr Wojciechowski. The ceremony took place at the Ministry of National Defense in the presence of Paweł Bejda, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defense.
“We are extremely honored to be signing this agreement on such an important day for all of us. This is a highly significant, even innovative, agreement. The Force Protection system is a solution designed to protect the military from low-flying and unmanned aerial threats,” said WB Group President Piotr Wojciechowski after the signing.
“We are proud that the Polish Armed Forces have once again placed their trust in WB Group. The order for cutting-edge unmanned aerial systems, electronics, and communication systems for the Polish military will enhance situational awareness and enable better threat identification,” added the WB Group President.
The Force Protection system is designed for reconnaissance and air coverage of the operational areas of Homar-K battalions. It includes a dozen sets of Force Protection unmanned aerial systems featuring several hundred FlyEye and X-Fronter drones, as well as the FP-Spectre electronic reconnaissance system, all integrated with the national Topaz combat management system.
The agreement also covers equipping vehicles with IT systems, personal and vehicle-mounted radios from the WB Group and the Perad family, along with solutions that enhance communication range. Additionally, it includes the delivery of specialized artillery equipment and software, such as the universal Ukart-2 artillery calculators.
The systems will be installed on the launchers and other vehicles of the Homar-K multiple rocket launcher battalions, supporting artillery vehicles (such as CD-10 fuel distribution tankers), and specialized 4×4 off-road vehicles. The agreement also includes a training and logistics package. The system deliveries are scheduled to take place between 2025 and 2028 (Support vehicles for the WR-40 Langusta launchers for over one billion PLN).
The FlyEye unmanned aerial systems are designed for aerial imagery reconnaissance. Each aircraft can be equipped with a mission module containing an optoelectronic head with daytime and thermal cameras, a head with a thermal imaging camera, or can be supplemented with a radio signal retransmitter.
The FlyEye system is successfully used by the Polish Armed Forces, performing tasks for both the Operational Forces and the Territorial Defence Forces. This Polish UAV has also been tested in the most challenging conditions—during high-intensity conflict operations.
The X-Fronter is a scalable, modular vertical take-off and landing unmanned aerial vehicle. It is designed, among other tasks, for imagery intelligence. It enables covert operations while simultaneously observing targets in visible and infrared spectrums, both day and night, throughout the year.
The X-Fronter can carry out missions involving target identification and reconnaissance, damage assessment, force protection, support for intelligence operations, reconnaissance, and operational support.
