The AUV62-MR is an autonomous underwater vehicle designed for mine countermeasures missions in complex environments with high demands on endurance and autonomous capability. The vehicle has capabilities that enable it to quickly map and produce high-resolution sonar images of the seabed over large areas and detect various types of objects. The system provides the navy with the ability for covert reconnaissance but above all to solve multiple tasks simultaneously with fewer resources and less risk to personnel.

We are very proud to have been entrusted by FMV to deliver AUV62-MR. In addition to strengthening existing mine countermeasures capabilities, these systems will be an important part of the Navy’s work towards future mine countermeasures capabilities, says Mats Wicksell, head of Saab’s business area Kockums.
The system is designed to support the naval units’ ability to operate with great endurance in all types of situations, from coastal to open sea.
