The agreement ensures the safety and recognition of military airworthiness certification for all aerial assets used by NATO member states and partners.

In a joint statement, Jens Stoltenberg welcomed the signing of the agreement and emphasized that the agreement “will deepen our cooperation and interoperability between NATO and the Republic of Korea.

Under the agreement, NATO will recognize military airworthiness certificates issued in Seoul for aircraft manufactured in South Korea, and vice versa.

Although the Republic of Korea has already signed similar agreements with the United States, Spain, France, and Poland, this new agreement with NATO is expected to streamline procedures between the Republic of Korea and all NATO allies.
