On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, the Secretary of State in the Polish Ministry of National Defense, Paweł Zalewski, met with a delegation from the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.

The discussions focused on Polish-Ukrainian cooperation in the area of defense industries. They covered the current support provided by the Ministry of National Defense of Poland for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the status of implemented joint industrial projects and potential directions for further cooperation in this area. The possibilities of using European Union instruments in the context of increasing the production capacity of the defense industry were also discussed.
The Ukrainian delegation was led by Serhij Bojew, the Deputy Minister for European Integration at the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine. He was accompanied by Hanna Hvozdiar, Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, and Herman Smetanin, President of the Ukrainian Defense Industry concern (UDI, formerly UkrOboronProm).
