Attention. In connection with a suspected violation of the airspace of the Republic of Poland by an unidentified object approaching from the direction of Belarus, the Armed Forces Operational Command, through the Air Operations Centre – Air Component Command, is conducting verification activities.
As part of the review of radar-system records, a military helicopter has been dispatched to the area. The purpose of the ongoing activities is to confirm the nature of the recorded object and to rule out, among other possibilities, that the detected signal was caused by meteorological phenomena or anomalies.
At the same time, we would like to inform you that no activity by long-range aviation of the Russian Federation associated with strikes against targets on the territory of Ukraine has been observed in recent hours.
The situation is being continuously monitored. Further information will be provided once the verification process has been completed and all details of the incident have been confirmed.
Please follow the official statements issued by the Armed Forces Operational Command.

It should be recalled that on September 3 this year, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced the strengthening of military aviation patrols monitoring Polish airspace:
Following the recent Russian provocations and acts of aggression, I have decided to expand the protection of our airspace. We are increasing the activity of our air forces, including F-16 aircraft and helicopters.
Recent weeks have shown that Russian provocations can take various forms and pose threats in places that were previously considered safe. Poland is continuously monitoring the situation along its eastern border. We are also strengthening systems designed to respond rapidly to threats across the entire country.

UPDATE
Verification activities regarding the suspected violation of the airspace of the Republic of Poland have been completed.
As a result of the verification, it was determined that the indications recorded by radar systems were not related to a violation of Polish airspace. They were caused by a large flock of birds, whose flight was detected by airspace surveillance systems.
No threat to the security of the airspace of the Republic of Poland was recorded.
The Armed Forces Operational Command continues to monitor the situation, while the forces and assets under its command remain ready to carry out assigned tasks.
UPDATE 2
In connection with doubts and questions concerning today’s military activity related to the suspected violation of the airspace of the Republic of Poland, we would like to remind you that the Polish Armed Forces monitor the airspace and possible threats around the clock.
The Armed Forces Operational Command provides information whenever military aviation and other forces and assets responsible for ensuring the security of Polish airspace are activated. The purpose of such statements is also to keep residents of areas where military activities are being conducted informed and reassured.
All indications and records from airspace surveillance systems are analyzed and verified each time in order to rule out possible provocations, violations and potential threats. The safety of citizens and the airspace of the Republic of Poland remains our priority.
Meteorological phenomena and anomalies, as well as large concentrations of birds, may under certain conditions affect radar-system indications. In accordance with established procedures, however, no such indication is disregarded and each is subject to detailed verification.
The Armed Forces Operational Command continues to monitor the situation, while the forces and assets under its command remain ready to carry out assigned tasks.
