On Wednesday, September 9, 2026, the second day of the 34th International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO 2026) at Targi Kielce, the State Treasury — represented by the Armament Agency of the Polish Ministry of National Defence — signed a contract with the Research and Development Center for Maritime Technology (OBR CTM), part of the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), for the delivery of more than 1,000 Toczek remotely detonated explosive charge systems designed to destroy naval mines for the Polish Navy.

The value of the order is approximately 67 million PLN gross, with deliveries scheduled for 2027–2029.
The Polish Navy initially introduced the Toczek A, B and C charges for use aboard Project 206F/FM minehunters (ORP Mewa, ORP Czajka and ORP Flaming, which were withdrawn from service between 2019 and 2021). They are now used aboard the latest Project 258 Kormoran II minehunters, three of the six ordered vessels currently being in service.
The charges are filled at Zakłady Chemiczne Nitro-Chem. The Toczek systems are used for mine-clearance operations on the seabed of the Baltic Sea. The first 100 units were delivered to the Polish Armed Forces in 2019.
The system consists of three remotely initiated charges differing in explosive weight and in the method used to deploy them in the sea near the objects to be destroyed. They can be placed at depths ranging from 6 to 150 m. Toczek A is used to destroy naval mines, while Toczek B is intended to neutralize their warheads and instrument compartments; both are carried by Ukwiał remotely operated underwater vehicles. They were developed by Gdańsk University of Technology. The smallest variant, Toczek C, is transported by mine-clearance divers and is used to sever mooring lines connecting mine bodies with their anchors, as well as the chains of moored mines. The explosion cuts these elements, causing the mine to rise to the surface.

The Toczek charges are detonated wirelessly using coded hydroacoustic signals. A signal generator with a range of 400–800 m, equipped with a dedicated transmitter, is lowered into the water to a maximum depth of 160 m. Each Toczek has its own individual code number, and the coded signal prevents the accidental detonation of the wrong device.
Toczek A measures 250×450 mm and weighs 48 kg, of which 40 kg is explosive. Toczek B measures 180×340 mm and weighs 10 kg, including 5.7 kg of explosive. Toczek C weighs 3 kg, of which 0.5 kg is explosive.
