MBDA’s future technologies will also be on display. The Group is investing in projects such as DRAGONFIRE, a sovereign Laser Directed Energy Weapon system being developed through the partnership led by MBDA alongside Leonardo and QinetiQ, as well as hypersonic and counter-hypersonic projects. These programmes demonstrate how MBDA is preparing for the next generation of operational challenges while promoting Europe’s long-term technological sovereignty.
MSPO therefore provides a great opportunity to illustrate MBDA’s broader vision: delivering integrated, sovereign capabilities across every layer of defence, from ground to space.
MBDA and Poland: A Partnership Built on Innovation and Industrial Cooperation
The relationship between MBDA and Poland is a strong example of long-term defence cooperation in Europe. Built on shared strategic objectives and excellence, this partnership has expanded to encompass the joint development of sovereign capabilities.

As a trusted member of the European defence community, MBDA delivers decisive and innovative military capabilities that contribute to national security, strategic independence and freedom of action. In this context, Poland’s modernisation priorities align closely with MBDA’s vision, particularly in the areas of force protection, layered air and missile defence, and deep strike capabilities.
The NAREW air defence programme best embodies this relationship. Designed to provide Poland with a highly advanced mobile air defence capability, able to counter both current and future threats at ranges exceeding 40 kilometres, NAREW is based on the CAMM-ER missile jointly developed by the United Kingdom and Italy.
Beyond delivering equipment, MBDA is providing an unprecedented transfer of both technology and knowledge that will enable the PGZ-NAREW Consortium to manufacture more than 1,000 CAMM-ER air defence missiles together with over 100 launchers for the programme, in Poland.
This industrial transfer represents a unique example of defence cooperation. Rather than simply supplying equipment, MBDA is contributing directly to the development of sovereign industrial capabilities within Poland, strengthening both national resilience and the European defence industrial base.
NAREW represents one of several air defence projects undertaken by MBDA in Poland and demonstrates the maturity of the strategic cooperation agreements, the first of which was signed between MBDA and PGZ in 2017. NAREW directly follows the accelerated Mała Narew programme initiated in 2022 to answer urgent operational requirements, with systems now already in service. It also builds upon the PILICA+ short-range air defence contract signed in early 2023 with the Polish Armament Agency, with deliveries of CAMM missiles and iLaunchers already underway.

MBDA is also contracted to equip the Polish Navy’s three new Miecznik-class frigates with the SEA CEPTOR naval air defence system, taking advantage of the interoperability of CAMM in both land and maritime domains and utilising Poland’s already procured CAMM missile stockpile. MBDA and PGZ also have an agreement to co-develop a new medium-range, low-cost CAMM interceptor, leveraging the work together on NAREW.
These initiatives illustrate a partnership based on shared investment, world-class expertise and a common vision of security in Europe. By combining combat-proven technologies with meaningful transfer of knowledge and technology, MBDA contributes to strengthening Poland’s sovereign defence capabilities while supporting the country’s growing role within European security.
MBDA: Turning Innovation into Operational Advantage
The pace of technological evolution and the changing character of modern battlefields require continuous innovation. MBDA combines decades of operational experience with sustained investments in future capabilities. Its expertise in innovation is reflected through combat-proven systems spanning domains: ASTER, SCALP/STORM SHADOW and METEOR, while simultaneously contributing to the future of European defence.
At MSPO 2026, MBDA will illustrate this dual approach of combining operational maturity with technological innovation, through a range of next-generation capabilities designed to address emerging operational requirements, including CROSSBOW. Designed as a ground-launched deep strike capability, CROSSBOW can deliver both kinetic and non-kinetic payloads weighing up to 300 kilogrammes over ranges exceeding 800 kilometres. Developed specifically to operate in high-intensity conflicts and complex electromagnetic environments, it combines long-range precision with affordability, enabling armed forces to generate significant combat mass without relying exclusively on high-cost systems.
Alongside CROSSBOW, MBDA is also developing DELUGE, a long-range munition specifically designed to saturate enemy air defences. Featuring a 50-kilogramme payload, a range of up to 500 kilometres and a turbojet engine capable of speeds of around 400 km/h, DELUGE is being engineered for mass production and spiral development, enabling a rapid adaptation to ever-changing threats. Alongside high-end precision weapons, it complements them by providing a cost-effective capability that sustains operational pressure through attrition.

These programmes prepare future armed forces for increasingly complex threat environments while ensuring that Europe retains critical sovereign technologies.
MBDA Supporting Nations Through Industrial Acceleration
Technology alone cannot meet growing defence requirements without corresponding industrial capacity. To address this challenge, MBDA has launched an ambitious industrial transformation, designed to ensure that innovation is matched by production capability. As demand for sovereign defence systems continues to increase across Europe, MBDA is expanding manufacturing capacity, reinforcing its supply chain and strengthening the resilience of its industrial ecosystem.
This transformation is already producing tangible results: missile production doubled between 2023 and 2025 and is expected to increase by a further average of 40% during 2026. At the same time, MBDA continues making significant investments across its production facilities and supplier network to sustain higher manufacturing volumes while maintaining quality and operational reliability.
MBDA is reinforcing its European industrial footprint through the expansion of existing manufacturing sites, strategic acquisitions such as Roxel and the development of new industrial and production facilities. Together, these initiatives strengthen resilience while reducing dependence on vulnerable supply chains.
MBDA has also announced an unprecedented investment plan exceeding €5 billion between 2026 and 2030, doubling the previous plan. This investment will further expand production capacity, accelerate innovation and reinforce the industrial capabilities necessary to meet the evolving needs of customers throughout Europe and beyond.
