ICEYE India
On Monday, August 24, it was announced that the establishment of ICEYE India expands the company’s presence into one of the world’s most important defense and space markets. The new entity’s immediate priority is to support Indian defense and intelligence customers in accessing advanced space-based reconnaissance capabilities and solutions that strengthen national security and resilience, while also broadening ICEYE’s engagement with the country’s space and defense ecosystem through participation in the supply chain, technology validation and the development of local capabilities.

This entity also provides a platform for ICEYE’s manufacturing plans in India. The company intends to build production capacity in the country, meeting Indian requirements in defense, surveillance and environmental monitoring through local suppliers, partners and engineering talent.
Rafał Modrzewski, CEO and Co-founder of ICEYE, said:

ICEYE is exploring opportunities for cooperation within India’s space and defense ecosystem, including satellite launch capabilities (its satellites are currently launched by SpaceX from spaceports in the United States – editor’s note), electronics and component manufacturers, and technology partners. The company’s model in each country is to build local industrial capabilities, an approach aligned with the objectives of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

ICEYE Netherlands
On Tuesday, August 25, ICEYE announced the formal establishment of ICEYE Netherlands, headquartered in Amsterdam, which is launching a technology hub within the Netherlands Defence Technological and Industrial Base (NLDTIB), as well as the appointment of Joost Elstak as Managing Director of ICEYE Netherlands.
ICEYE za pośrednictwem satelitów obserwacyjnych wyposażonych w radar z syntetyczną aperturą (SAR) o wysokiej rozdzielczości już dostarcza Królewskim Niderlandzkim Siłom Powietrznym (Koninklijke Luchtmacht; KLu) informacji wywiadowczych, obserwacyjnych i rozpoznawczych (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, ISR), dzięki umowie z 23 czerwca 2025. Połączono to z rozwijającymi się i innowacyjnymi rozwiązaniami w segmencie naziemnym i systemami analizy danych.
ICEYE Netherlands będzie rozwijać tę współpracę operacyjną, a jej centrum technologiczne będzie wspierać potencjał inżynierii naziemnej, wspólny rozwój NLDTIB, zaangażowanie interesariuszy z branży obronnej i szkolenia w zakresie gotowości kosmicznej. Oznacza to ambicję ICEYE, aby przejść od bycia europejskim dostawcą systemów do krajowego partnera w zakresie technologii i potencjału, osadzonego w niderlandzkiej technologicznej bazie przemysłowej sektora obronnego.
Posunięcie to jest zgodne z niderlandzkimi ambicjami w dziedzinie przestrzeni kosmicznej, w tym z utworzeniem 30 czerwca br. Dowództwa Kosmicznego, które jednoczy działania kosmiczne w siłach zbrojnych, oraz kierunkiem określonym w Białej Księdze Obronności 2026, identyfikującą przestrzeń kosmiczną jako dziedzinę krytyczną dla bezpieczeństwa narodowego. Dowództwo osiągnie pełną gotowość operacyjną do 2028.
Jako dyrektor generalny ICEYE Netherlands, Elstak ma ponad dwudziestoletnie doświadczenie w opracowywaniu programów małych satelitów, rozpoczynając swoją podróż jako inżynier systemów podczas kluczowych misji w ISISPACE i SSTL, przechodząc na różnorodne role komercyjne w Airbusie w Królestwie Niderlandów. Dołączył do ICEYE w 2023 i obecnie pełni funkcję globalnego wiceprezesa ds. sprzedaży klientów Mission ICEYE.
