On Thursday, August 20, 2026, Czech holding company Czechoslovak Group (CSG) announced that its US subsidiary Federal Premium Ammunition, part of The Kinetic Group, will supply duty and training ammunition to police forces in the Nordic countries of Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.

Police forces in the countries concerned, which cooperate closely with one another, selected the proven Tactical Bonded .223 Rem. cartridge. For duty ammunition, they chose the version with a 62-grain Bonded Soft Point bullet (LE223T3), weighing approximately 4.02 g. The contract covers up to 35 million rounds over seven years. In addition, Disintegrator Jacketed Frangible training ammunition with a 55-grain reduced-ricochet projectile was selected.

The Nordic Police agencies are well known for being technically advanced and have very stringent performance requirements for their products.

Federal was selected over a large number of global ammunition suppliers due to technical superiority. “We provide top-quality law enforcement and tactical products officers need to have full confidence in any situation.”
The Tactical Bonded .223 Rem. cartridge features a Trophy Bonded design in which the jacket is permanently bonded to the core. This provides very high weight retention, often close to 100%, controlled expansion and deep penetration even after passing through intermediate barriers. The cartridge is known for excellent performance, including minimal trajectory deflection and retained effectiveness after penetrating automotive glass, sheet metal, walls and similar obstacles. It fragments less than hollow-point projectiles, resulting in deeper penetration.
The Disintegrator Jacketed Frangible cartridge, in turn, uses a full-metal-jacket projectile with a core made of compressed metal powder, specifically iron and tin, enclosed in a thin brass jacket. Upon impact with a hard target, the projectile rapidly breaks apart, reducing the risk of ricochet.
