On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, French company Eviden and the Thales group announced a cooperation initiative for the French Army (Armée de terre). Under the agreement, Thales’ Galileo Public Regulated Service military satellite navigation system will be integrated with Eviden’s P3TS1 military satellite navigation receiver, which is already used by the service.

This upgrade will strengthen the resilience of military vehicle positioning and navigation systems by improving their ability to withstand electronic warfare threats, including jamming and spoofing, while ensuring the integrity and security of positioning data in high-intensity conflict.
The solution will be available in two configurations. The first will integrate the latest TopStar radio receiver, which forms the core of the Galileo Public Regulated Service, providing access to GNSS signals as well as Galileo and GPS Open Service signals. The second will combine GPS with either a standard or smart TopStar receiver, adding advanced anti-jamming capabilities in the latter configuration. Both variants will include a precision clock that maintains synchronization of tactical radios even if GNSS signals are lost.
The new P3TS PRS version, a plug-and-play positioning and timing system, is based on an industrialization and in-service support program awarded to Eviden by France’s Directorate General of Armaments, part of the Ministry for the Armed Forces and Veterans. It reflects Eviden’s expertise in integrating and deploying tactical real-time situational-awareness solutions, as well as its experience in implementing the SCORPION Combat Information System. By offering two Galileo PRS integration options, P3TS PRS can be adapted to the operational requirements and constraints of a wide range of land platforms.
P3TS PRS will strengthen European strategic autonomy by reducing dependence on GPS and meeting the armed forces’ requirement for sovereign and resilient solutions that can be rapidly deployed in operational areas where the threat of jamming and spoofing is increasing.

P3TS is a sovereign, resilient, multiconstellation military geolocation system that provides French forces with reliable real-time positioning and timing data essential for military operations. This information is fed into combat information systems, including Eviden’s SICS, as well as tactical radios, improving understanding of the operational environment throughout the chain of command.
Its ability to collect, fuse, maintain, and distribute a reliable real-time operational picture also extends to dismounted soldiers and non-digitized tactical vehicles used for logistics, domestic operations, and reconnaissance exercises. Its primary objective is to help reduce friendly-fire incidents.
P3TS is an innovation developed by the French Army Technical Section (Section Technique de l’Armée de Terre, STAT), which operates under the Directorate General of Armaments, with support from the Participatory Innovation Unit of the French Defence Innovation Agency.
