The events of September 8 demonstrated the Group’s ambitions and the direction of its development: from modern armored platforms, through unmanned systems and military robotics, to air defense, weapons and optoelectronics. The central event of the first day of MSPO 2026 was the public debut of the full-scale demonstrator of the Heavy Infantry Fighting Vehicle developed by Huta Stalowa Wola. A year earlier, the project had been presented in Kielce as a 1:4 scale model. This year’s presentation of the complete vehicle illustrates the pace of development work and the growth of domestic capabilities in the design and production of modern armored platforms.

The Heavy Infantry Fighting Vehicle was designed for operations in high-intensity conflict. Its key design assumptions include high firepower, maximum protection for the crew and dismounts, and the retention of high tactical mobility. The vehicle is intended to transport, protect and provide direct fire support to mechanized infantry units, including during operations conducted alongside armored forces.
The vehicle’s combat weight exceeds 40 metric tons and depends on the configuration of its modular armor. The design features a chassis with seven pairs of road wheels and a powerpack rated at more than 1,000 hp. The demonstrator on display is fitted with the ZSSW-30 Remote-Controlled Turret System. However, the vehicle has also been prepared for integration with other turret systems and armament configurations, increasing its development potential and adaptability to the requirements of future users.
The next stage of the program is expected to include the construction of two prototypes and the conduct of trials. Huta Stalowa Wola and the Polish Armaments Group aim to achieve readiness for the launch of serial production in 2029.

Unmanned ground platforms with ZM Tarnów weapon systems
The first day of the exhibition traditionally also brought numerous agreements with domestic and foreign partners. Under the first agreement signed on Tuesday, Zakłady Mechaniczne Tarnów and Milrem Robotics expanded their cooperation in the field of unmanned ground systems. The document provides for the joint development and production of unmanned ground vehicles equipped with ZM Tarnów weapon systems, followed by their offer to customers in Poland and on foreign markets.
The cooperation will combine ZM Tarnów’s expertise in the design and production of weapon systems, including remotely controlled weapon stations, with Milrem Robotics’ experience in military robotics, autonomous technologies and the development of the THeMIS platform.
Production and maintenance of Bushmaster cannons at Huta Stalowa Wola
Huta Stalowa Wola and Northrop Grumman have signed an agreement to establish licensed production in Poland, as well as maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities, for the Bushmaster family of cannons.
The agreement is intended to support the development of domestic industrial capabilities related to one of the widely used weapon systems, while also increasing security of supply and the ability to service the weapons throughout their entire lifecycle.
Strategic cooperation between PGZ and EVPÚ
The Polish Armaments Group and Slovak company EVPÚ have signed a strategic cooperation agreement. It marks another stage in cooperation between the Polish and Slovak defense industries in the areas of land combat platforms, turret systems, air defense solutions and future research and development initiatives.
PGZ and EVPÚ will focus on developing integrated defense solutions combining land platforms offered by the PGZ Group with turret technologies and EVPÚ’s experience in systems integration.
One of the priorities will be to develop a joint business model enabling the promotion of complete combat systems to domestic and international customers. The partners also intend to pursue a coordinated export strategy in selected markets, including joint business development, marketing and engagement with potential customers.
Joint development of the iLauncher system
Two letters of intent on the joint development of the iLauncher air defense launcher being procured under the Narew program were signed in the presence of representatives of Poland and the United Kingdom.
The first document was concluded between representatives of the two countries. Poland was represented by Gen. Michał Marciniak, while the United Kingdom was represented by Pete Fawcett, UK Ground Based Air Defence Senior Responsible Officer. The second letter of intent was signed by representatives of the defense industries of both countries: Arkadiusz Bąk, First Vice President of the Management Board of PGZ, and Chris Allam, representing MBDA.
The signed documents mark a step toward standardizing the air defense launchers used by the United Kingdom and Poland, including those employed in the Pilica+ and Narew systems. Development of the launcher is to be carried out jointly by MBDA UK and the Polish defense industry centered around PGZ, based on requirements agreed by the British and Polish military users.
PGZ, WZL No. 2 and Shield AI on next-generation unmanned systems
The Polish Armaments Group, Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze No. 2 and Shield AI have signed a letter of intent concerning the identification of opportunities and the scope of cooperation in the design, production and delivery of next-generation unmanned weapon systems for the Polish Armed Forces (Contract for AI-guided V-Bat drones for the Polish Navy).
The agreement opens the way to combining domestic manufacturing and support capabilities with experience in the design of advanced autonomous systems.
Production and development of the STRIKER unmanned strike system
Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze No. 2 and FlyFocus have signed an agreement concerning the transfer of technology, production and further development of the STRIKER unmanned strike system.
The cooperation is intended to develop capabilities in Poland related to the production and further enhancement of unmanned systems designed for strike missions.
"Pchła" – a Polish nano-class unmanned aerial vehicle
Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze No. 2, B-Technology and the Military Institute of Armament Technology have signed a framework cooperation agreement covering the transfer of technology, production and joint development of a nano-class unmanned aerial vehicle codenamed “Pchła” (“Flea”).
“Pchła” is one of the smallest reconnaissance UAVs. The system can be used both for operations inside buildings and for observation in open terrain. The platform’s small size may allow reconnaissance to be conducted in areas that are difficult to access for larger unmanned aerial vehicles.
Multirole unmanned platforms for the military and uniformed services
Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze No. 2 and Pelixar have signed an agreement concerning the transfer of technology, production and development of universal, scalable, multirotor SAR unmanned platforms.
The platforms were originally developed for rescue operations, including in demanding maritime conditions. However, their design also allows them to be used for logistics and transport missions, as signal relays on the battlefield, as well as for evacuation and the delivery of equipment to hard-to-reach locations.
PCO and Brolis Semiconductors to develop laser technologies
PCO and Brolis Semiconductors, in the presence of Karolis Aleksa, Lithuania’s Deputy Minister of National Defence, have signed an agreement concerning the joint development of laser transmitter modules used in modern rangefinders for advanced multisensor systems installed on combat vehicles.
The project marks another stage of cooperation launched under a memorandum signed during MSPO 2025. Its implementation is intended to contribute to strengthening the regional technological base, industrial sovereignty and security of supply for the European defense sector.
Future technologies and production anchored in Poland
The first day of MSPO 2026 demonstrated the broad range of capabilities concentrated within the Polish Armaments Group. The documents signed cover heavy land platforms, weapon systems and turret technologies, air defense, military robotics, unmanned ground and aerial systems, autonomy, optoelectronics and laser technologies.
The common direction of all these projects is the development of technologies and production capabilities, increasing the share of Polish industry in strategic defense programs, strengthening security of supply and creating solutions that can be offered both to the Polish Armed Forces and to international customers.
During MSPO 2026, the Polish Armaments Group is presenting the offerings of 28 companies and more than 300 pieces of military equipment, systems, products and components. The exhibition has been organized across seven domains, showcasing the Group’s capabilities ranging from heavy equipment and ammunition to unmanned solutions, electronics, optoelectronics, and maritime and aerospace technologies.
PGZ’s presence in Kielce is also the centerpiece of the “We Produce Your Security” campaign, highlighting that the equipment on display is backed by Polish factories, design offices, laboratories, research and development centers and, above all, the people working to strengthen Poland’s security.
